I made a short film documenting my ascent to the top of Croagh Patrick in the summer of 2024. The mountain overlooking Clew Bay near Westport in County Mayo has had a church on its summit since the 5th century and is an important pilgrimage site.
This work is part of a series of ‘micro films’ I have been making since 2018. I think of these films as little diaries, or visual poems. These videos are made possible thanks to the speed and ease of editing reels using smartphone technology, but they do not conform to the format or functions prescribed by our tech overlords!
