Hello. I’m a human multi-disciplinary artist and writer called Chloë

I grew up in a slender house in the south of England with my parents and a cat named after the philosopher Zeno. I now live near Galway City in the west of Ireland.

My first ‘improper job’ was on the design desk at The Idler. A concept magazine I founded is held in the Tate and RCA libraries and I have won awards and funding for my artistic research, the most recent of which being a residency at Greywood Arts in Cork.

For as long as I can remember, I have used writing, illustration and photography to document and explore the defining experiences of my life.

As a ‘geriatric millennial’ and product of my time, I share a common obsession with technology and identity. I write about relationships and view the domestic as a microcosm of society.

My voice has grown out of a decade spent writing regular features, interviews and columns for the local press in Lewes and Brighton. I am attracted to things that seem strange or uncanny, and I love raising a laugh.

A lifelong lover of food, I spent my student years working front of house roles in the City of London. I have hosted supper clubs, worked as PRO of an annual food festival and founded Cook the Books, a long-running book club and event series.

I have been a member of the UK Guild of Food Writers since 2015 and have judged at their annual awards. I am a two-time national blogging awards finalist, and my food journalism and photography are published by the likes of Great British Chefs, Buzzfeed, Metro and Vegan Living among others.

This year (2026) I am completing my debut novel and growing my collection of short stories and poems. This website is the best place to find my news but I am also on Instagram and Substack.

Please contact me to join my online writing rooms and to express interest in forthcoming workshops.
